    Chimpanzee trekking

Chimpanzee trekking is undeniably the main reason why Kibale Forest is one of the top National Parks in Uganda, offering the opportunity to meet face-to-face with mankind’s closest relatives in the animal Kingdom. Here, over 1500 of the country’s 5000 chimpanzees are sheltered hence making it the best chimpanzee trekking destination in Uganda. Any traveler aged 12 years and above has the opportunity to track and spend a maximum of one-hour viewing and photographing them. Chimp treks last between half an hour and 4 hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzee community.

Similarly, visitors can book the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience which involves spending almost the whole day viewing/observing and photographing chimpanzees that are still undergoing habituation/training to make them used to human presence. This activity is more detailed and provides visitors the opportunity to spend time with these Great Apes from the time they leave their nests in the morning until when they make their nests for the night.

    Birding
