    Chimpanzee Forest Guest House is located at the edge of Kibale National Park only 22 Km from Fort Portal on Fort Portal – Kamwenge Road. The guest house sits on well manicured lawns, beautiful gardens, tea plantations, pasture and indigenous forest.     Owned and operated by a Ugandan family, Chimpanzee Forest Guest House was originally established in the 1950s, during Uganda’s colonial period, by the British District Commissioner. The lodge has since been wonderfully cared for and maintained.

    Guests can relax in a comfortably furnished lounge which features an excellent collection of colonial African literature, dating back from 1800’s.

    Chimpanzee Forest Guest House offers accommodation in beautifully furnished and self-contained cottages (Bandas). The cottages offer a panoramic view of Kibale Forest National Park and the surrounding tea plantations. The guest house also offer accommodation in a large ancient colonial house, which was formerly a home to the British commissioner in the 1950’s. It is well furnished with two self-contained rooms in a colonial setting with beautiful views of Kibale National Park, tea plantations and a crater lake.

    Enjoy hot showers in western style bathrooms or camp on flat grassy sites away from the house with shade and seclusion.

    Accommodation outside of the main house is offered in either a large twin bedded self-contained banda, over-looking Lake Nyabikere. A choice of three self-contained cottages with views of Kibale Forest National Park is also available. You may also camp on flat grassy sites away from the house with shade and seclusion.

    Dishes offered include: delicious hot meals; cold drinks; freshly baked bread; seasonal home grown fruits and vegetables; pancake breakfasts and percolated coffee.

    Kibale National Park Headquarters is just 500 meters away and chimp trekking at the park’s Kanyanchu Tourist Center is just 10km away.
