The cottages are situated on a hill, with a private and splendid view of Kibale Forest and the Rwenzori Mountains. From your private balcony you can enjoy the wildlife, with the surrounding sounds of birds, monkeys, chimps, and elephants.

Though the bathroom is outside, it is completely closed off with an open roof that allow you to enjoy wildlife and nature. Your privacy is guaranteed, so you can have the ultimate experience of freedom in the middle of nature.

It’s a one to five minutes walk from the restaurant to the cottages, depending which cottage you stay in.

    Family Cottage

The family cottage is built near the restaurant, on a hill. This place is ideal for people with children or for people who want to be near the restaurant.  Just like all the other cottages this cottage has a lot of privacy and is in the bush, surrounded by various colorful birds and wildlife.

The cottage holds two bedrooms with flexible beds which can be either twins or doubles. There is space for one extra bed in each bedroom. There is a lockable door in between the two rooms.

This cottage also has a large balcony in the front with a view on the forest and the Rwenzori mountains and two complete bathrooms with hot showers and flushing toilets.

Therefore the family cottage can also be used as two separate (complete) twin cottages. For example for friends who want to have their privacy, but also want to be near each other.

Chimps’ Nest cares about preserving the environment and natural resources, so local people built it using natural materials and the electricity we use is solar powered. All this makes Chimps’ Nest an eco-friendly lodge.

While at the lodge, visitors can enjoy such activities like chimp trekking, birdwatching, night walks, nature walks through Kibale Forest or the Bigodi Swamp area. You can also engage in mountain biking, visit the local community or wonderful sightseeing at one of the nearby crater lakes.
