    Safari Itinerary:

    Day 1 : Arrival Entebbe Airport

    Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to Kampala Serena Hotel or Protea Hotel in Entebbe (high end facility), for an overnight stay and dinner. Meal plan: Dinner.

    Day 2: Kampala – Kibale National Park:

    You’ll leave Kampala after breakfast for a fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile delta to Kibale National Park, just below the Rwenzori Mountains. Get on an afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area for outstanding views.

    Day 3: Chimpanzees Habituation and Birding Tour – Kibale Forest

    This day is dedicated for chimpanzee habituation experience. You will start the day with an early morning breakfast and a packed lunch and then set off to the forest before dawn breaks.  You will meet your guide, for briefing, before setting off to where the chimpanzees built their nests the night before. Dawn is just breaking and the chimpanzee community you are going to be with the rest of the day is just rising from their sleep.

    Chimpanzee habituation and birding safari tour involves a full day close up with the famous chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park, so, your camera might fill up with quality pictures of these chimpanzees. You will get to learn to identify them as individuals by their markings, sometimes scars and other unique features that make them stand out from rest.     Day 4: Birding Safari in Kibale Forest National Park

    This day is dedicated for a birding walk, so you won’t miss such species as Western banded Snake Eagle, Striped Kingfisher, Great blue Turaco, Lizard Buzzard, Lesser Striped Swallow and Joyful Greenbul.

    You’ll also see Chubb’s Cisticola, Masked Apalis, Cassin’s Grey Flycatcher, Whinchat, Stonechat, Green-headed Sunbird and Common Fiscal among others. All these in Bigodi Swamp and along and around the Kibale Forest National Park.

    Day 5: Kibale National Park – Kampala

    There’s a morning visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary from where you will take on a guided walk around the swamp. Don’t miss this walk because it will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna, and view a variety of butterflies, bird species and other insects. Thereafter, you will drive back to Kampala with lunch en route. Meal Plan: B & L
