    Itinerary:

    Day 1: Kampala – Kibale National Park:

    Leave Kampala after breakfast for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. Afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area for an outstanding views.

    Meals and overnight stay at Kyaninga Lodge (luxury facility), with a stunning location overlooking a dramatic crater lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”. Meal plan: L & D

    Day 2: Chimpanzees Trekking Safari in Kibale

    After early breakfast, report at Kanyanchu Tourist Center where tourist activities begin and set out to track chimpanzees in Kibale forest. Chances of viewing the chimps are over 90%. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms, making it interesting. The walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s Monkey, and butterflies.

    After lunch, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary from where you will take on a guided walk around the swamp. This walk will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna. View a variety of butterflies, birds and other insects.

    Have a tour of the crater region around Ndali lodge. You may also stop over at any tea plantation along the road if you wish.

    Day 3 : Second Chimpanzees Trekking Day in Kibale

    Again after breakfast, transfer to Kibale Head quarters for briefing before setting off for a forest walk in search for chimpanzees. This time, the walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys and L’Hoest’s Monkey.

    Be ready to also get more focus on the various bird species, colorful butterflies, forest insects and flora and fauna.

    Day 4: Kibale National Park – Kampala

    Morning drive back to Kampala with lunch en-route. Meal plan: B & L.
